Program areas at Altavita Village Community Foundation
Concert program: We hire professional concert performers to perform mostly classical chamber music performances for Westmont Village residents. It includes renting the venue, tuning pianos and providing refreshments.
Village Shoppe: The foundation operates a small retail operation so that residents with mobility problems can obtain commonly needed small items like stamps, cards, some food items, clothing items, etc. without having to arrange transportation from the Village and back.
Resident Council: Resident volunteers staff a Resident Council which is part of the Foundation. This council stocks and maintains various on-site libraries. It publishes a monthly magazine highlighting resident activities, local interest items, historical information of the local area and reports on and introduces new residents of the village. It also provides and funds entertainment events for residents.
Programs and projects: Various one-time projects. Resident Council programs and activities, Wood Hobby Shop operation, computer room operation, trail program, resident loss of contract due to bankruptcy compensation program, Village shoppe retail operation.
