Program areas at APC
VHC Pediatrics services are crafted to meet the unique needs of each patient. Holistic programming allows the clinic to be proactive in preventing and actively treating conditions that are brought on by health disparities this community faces. Annual well-child visits ensure children are up-to-date on immunizations, receive hearing and vision screenings, and are screened for mental health, food insecurity, and other health disparities. Additionally, ~53% of visits are for acute (active, but short-term) care including things like the flu, injuries, and infections. Education is a key factor in care. VHC Pediatrics has established strategic, collaborative partnerships with other reliable community resources to ensure patients receive the best care possible. The organization works closely with Arlington Public Health, School Health Nurses, Parent-Infant Education, WIC, Child Protective Services, After Hours Emergency Mental Health Services, Head Start, Arlington Thrive, Arlington Food Assistance Center, and more. Organizational/Staff Achievements VHC Pediatrics is a comprehensive Medical Home, certified as a highest level Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee on Quality Assurance. The clinic was also awarded the Gold Star for outstanding Virginia Vaccines for Children.
