Scholarships are awarded to minority business owners or upper management to attend business executive programs such as the University of Richmond, Kellog at Northwestern University. The one week programs provide a wealth of knowledge and experience through intense learning environments developed especially for entrepreneurs

Certification of minority business enterprises to confirm that the company is owned and operated by a person representing a racial minority group. The certification process includes screening, interviews and site visits. Each application must be approved by the VMSDC Certification Committee and the Board of Directors. A recertification form is requested annually to keep company information up-to-date.

Business activities such as the "Virginia Business Opportunity Fair" and other regional events which give participants access to hundreds of buyers and business owners. Match-makers and Corporate Connections are held through out the year engaging our corporate members and MBE's. Corporate and minority business owners are also provided access to directories, profiles, listings, and other publications electronically
