Program areas at Virginia PTA - Bettie Weaver Elementary PTA
Weaver enrichment program-after school activities for children on educational topics and extra cirricular activities from exploring the ocean, cooking, manners karate, chess, etc.
Children purchase year books at cost by PTA administering the program.
Book fair - annual book fair which raises awareness for the importance of reading to the students, their families and the community. The net proceeds are used for student activities and faculty support.
Capital fund-the PTA raised money from individual members and corporate matching gifts in an initiative to raise funds to upgrade the physical faciliites, classroom technology and art supplies at the school. Major equipment is donated to the high school. The PTA asked members to solicit funds from their companies who provides matching grant funds.
Holiday shop-children can purchase christmas presents for siblings and parents; any profits are used to purchase additional books for the school library.
Other program services-various expenses for numerous categories, please contact treasurer if more detailed informaiton is required.
Volunteer fund to cover incidental out of pocket expenses incurred by parent voluteers for the benefit of the organization
Staff development-pta sends teachers to conferences based on various topics. Teachers must submit application to receive the grant.
Staff appreciation-gifts for teachers, workers at school
Room parents-expenses to cover functions, events
Recycling program cost to teach students to be responsible for natural resoures and conserve
Membership dues to national PTA associati0n

County council dues
Grade level activty fees cover each grade fees for trips, activities.
Happy feet is a running club that encourages children to get active.
Pace - gifted & talented education program to provide a challenging experience to motivate and nurture academic and social needs of gifted students.
