Program areas at Visual Understanding in Education
Vts school program:the vts school program supports students and teachers through facilitated discussion about Visual art. Vts school programs during the 2014-15 year supported approximately 520 teachers on-site in 50 schools, directly benefitting 12,000+ children in new york city & state, the greater san francisco bay area, and the pacific northwest.
Vts research program:vts continued with internal documentation and evaluation during fy 2014-2015. Vts was hired by outside institutions to provide research and evaluation support during the year. Collectively, these programs served to deepen the Understanding and impact of vts in educational settings.
Vts training program & consulting:the vts national training and consulting program conducted over 50 training events in the united states and abroad, which were attended by over 1,600 vts practitioners over the course of fy 2014-2015. Professional development institutes, vts practicums, lead teacher and new teacher workshops and school trainer workshops were across the united states, japan, and spain.
