Vital Wines improves equity in access to healthcare for vineyard workers and their families through education, advocacy, and direct services. They partnered with Providence Health to co-fund the cost of a dedicated promotore to serve the vineyard and cellar workers of the Walla Walla Valley and Milton-Freewater communities. Vital Wines provided 102 paid days at home, allowing vineyard workers to stay at home due to Covid or health-related needs for themselves or their family members.

Program areas at Vital Wines

Vital's day at home program provided 84 days of the average daily wage, $108.00 per day, to allow for vineyard workers to stay home and recover from covid-19 or await test results. People can return to work healthy and help stop the spread of the virus.
Vital contributed $5,000 to sos health services, a free, bilingual healthcare clinic serving the uninsured and underinsured.
In partnership with providence st. mary population health, Vital co-funds a promotora de salud/community health worker dedicated to the latinx community, with a focus on vineyard workers and their families. In 2023, her efforts reached over people through resource fairs and health workshops. Additionally, she reached 325 people with our spanish texting program. Text messages were sent to recipients disseminating, health-related information and details for upcoming healthcare events to share with other household members.
Vital's tasting room in the community that we serve educates wine consumers about the inequities of the industry and empowers them to make change. Guests are encouraged to support our mission by donating, joining the wine club, or purchasing bottles of which net profits fund our programs.
