Program areas at Vocational Guidance Services
During 2023 Vocational Guidance Services (vgs), and its affiliates vgs, inc, and Vocational Services, inc., served 568 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health conditions, and other barriers to employment. Vgs successfully placed 78 individuals into competitive external employment. In 2023, 392 individuals with developmental disabilities were served in Vocational rehabilitation and group employment programs. Other Services provided by vgs in 2023 included assessment, work adjustment, summer youth programing, employment programs, job placement Services, case management, and other specialized Services. Vgs and its affiliates provided comprehensive Services in 26 counties throughout the state of Ohio. The top referral sources for vgs included Ohio department of developmental disabilities, opportunities for ohioans with disabilities, veterans administration and bureau of workers' compensation - managed care organizations. Vgs also partnered with a variety of other government agencies, corporations, and social service organizations to assist individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment to change lives and strengthen the community. In 2023, vgs provided paid work experience to 637 participants. In total, vgs and its affiliates provided 288,972 hours of work experience which equated to $4,960,487 million in wages paid to ohioans.
