Voena

From july 2022 june 2023, Voena completed its 29th year as a non-profit performing arts organization. With a mission to unite the world and empower future leaders through music, Voena is dedicated to providing quality musical education for children and youth ages 6 to 18 from all ethnic and economic backgrounds. Voena has a no audition policy and believes that all children with a voice and a desire to sing are welcome to join the choir. Music instruction: there were over 175 class enrollments of choir members during the 2022/2023 season and the summer camp offering. These participants rehearsed in benicia, redwood city and cotati, spanning 3 counties in northern California. The choir continued to offer several levels of learning: preparatory, intermediate, concert chior i and ii, advanced creavo for a variation on vocal training. Voena also offers voices of rhythm and level i and ii, giving members the opportunity to learn rhythm and percussion throughout thier choir experience. All levels of choir participate in weekly rehearsals and performances with the higher level of the choir given. Still affected by the waning impact of covid, Voena adapted by offering in-person and virtual instruction. During this fiscal year, Voena was proud to have awarded 19 full scholarships, with the monetary equivalent of $14,050.voena conducted its vis program in four elementary schools in solano county. The program delivered music education to 120 4th graders directly in their classrooms. Voena not only rebounded during this time frame, but made great strides in recapturing its former glory in terms of the number and scope of performances. We performed over 15 concerts at such diverse venues as theaters, restaurants, churches, and engaged for the first time with local libraries.
