Program areas at Volunteer Fire Service
Assistance to Firefighters Grant awarded to Red Hill Fire Department for purchase of a cascade system to fill SCBA bottles. The new system will allow us to have equipment to refill our SCBA Bottles instead of relying on neighboring departments to fill the bottles after any emergency response to be ready for the next.
The department purchased Wilderness Bags with equipment to assist in recovering and assisting people that get lost or injured on the 5800 acre state owned recreational hunting property Yates Lake WMA. The property has numerous trails that can be hiked for recreation.
The department purchased new chain saws due to severe storms that we have experienced in 2023. One storm produced a tornado that touched down in Red Hill community and damaged homes and downed trees in Castaway Island area on lake Martin. These saws gives us a greater response to cutting trees in community to clear trees for emergency vehicles to move in the community,
