Americorpsas new hampshire's state service commission, Volunteer NH! Receives federal americorps funds to subgrant out to organizations to create americorps programs. These programs place hundreds of volunteers (known as members) across the state to serve their communities by activities like tutoring underserved students, conserving the natural beauty of our forests and lakes, and supporting refugees and new americans. Volunteer NH! Also provides training, technical assistance, and professional development opportunities for americorps programs and members to ensure they are effective as possible.
Governor's conference and the spirit of NH awardsthe governor's conference on volunteerism is an annual, low-cost professional development event where Volunteer managers, nonprofit staff, volunteers, and americorps members can attend sessions provided by experts in the field on topics such as fundraising, Volunteer recruitment, diversity, leadership development, and more. The spirit of NH awards is an annual, statewide Volunteer recognition ceremony for individual volunteers of all ages as well as for organizations that provide excellent Volunteer experiences. This event not only celebrates exemplary volunteerism, but also encourages all new hampshire residents to give back to their communities.
Volunteer generation fundvolunteer NH! Utilizes this americorps funded program to increase the capacity of new hampshire nonprofits to recruit and retain volunteers to meet critical community needs. The funding supports three main components: 1) providing trainings and support for Volunteer programs and management across the state, 2) funding the statewide Volunteer recruitment platform, get connected. 3) subgrants to eligible organizations to either fund a year-long project to build the capacity of a Volunteer program or to fund a one-time Volunteer need (like Volunteer recruitment software or a Volunteer training).
