VOZ Workers Rights Education Project is a worker-led organization that empowers diverse day laborers and immigrants to improve their working conditions and protect civil rights through leadership development, organizing, education, and economic opportunity. The project operates the MLK Jr. Worker Center, where day laborers seek employment, participate in workforce development trainings, and have access to labor protections and other resources. In 2022, VOZ dispatched over 130 day laborers to 2,622 job placements.

Program areas at VOZ Workers Rights Education Project

Voz operates the Voz worker center, a safe community space where day laborers seek employment, participate in workforce development trainings, and have access to labor protections and other resources. In 2022, Voz dispatched over 130 day laborers to 2,622 jobs, and connected Workers with 766 regional employers. Those jobs produced over 300,000 in revenue for the day labor community. In 2022, Voz facilitated 25 workforce development trainings that impacted a total of 50 unique members. As part of our leadership and Education program, Voz connected Workers to essential services such as mobile health clinics, mental health workshops, housing support, healthcare support, food pantries, and more. About 200 Workers benefited from these services
