Mission-based investingto foster housing for low-income families and seniors the organization participates in section 42 limited partnerships which qualify under the low-income housing tax credit programs. The ownership percentage as the nonprofit partner is generally 1% or less and for many projects the up-front capital contributions is not required or insignificant. Participation in housing partnerships is an extension of the mission to provide long-term affordable housing.
