Program areas at Walter Gerlach Livestock Show and Sale

The Walter Gerlach Livestock Show & Auction provides an opportunity for FFA and 4-H students of the the Northside Independent School District to learn about production agriculture. The students in these programs raise and care for their animals for 4 to 9 months throughout the year. Both of these programs teach students life skills, such as personal responsibility, money management, and a strong work ethic. Over 90% of these students attend college after high school graduation. The Auction provides money for educational scholarships for eligible students.
