B.2023 Fall Conference, September 20, 21, 22, 2023. This annual fall conference also focused on education for elected district commissioners and district management. Workshops included a session on the redevelopment of Port Gamble, Climate Mapping, Trends in Operator Certification both nationally and within Washington State, Lead Service Inventory Rules, IT vs Cybersecurity, a workshop on Earthquake and Tsunami Risk in Washington: What the Big One Could Mean for Utilities and Critical Infrastructure. Other topics included Water and Wastewater Confined Spaces, The Impact to Water Supply Aquifers, and a district panel on two districts construction projects and lessons learned and techniques for how to navigate difficult and contentious construction projects.
C.Conducted the annual Commissioners workshop on Saturday, January 28, 2023. This one-day seminar provided class instruction on Hot Topics in Public Records, Ethics, a Legislative and Regulatory Update, How to Run an Effective Meeting, and Roles of Commissioners and Managers.
A.2023 Spring Conference, April 12, 13, 14, 2023. This annual spring conference focused on education for elected district commissioners and district management. Workshops included a session on Inflow & Infiltration, a workshop on the responsibilities of commissioners and management personnel for effective leadership, and a district panel on how two utilities were impacted by PFAS. Other workshops included Budgeting and Planning in Times of Escalating Costs, Supply Chain Issues, and Employee Shortages, Distribution Maintenance & Repair Techniques. The Life Cycle of a Water Well, Odor in Wastewater Treatment Systems, Biosolids, and the New Growth Management Act among other topics
