Program areas at Washington Association of Educators for Talented and Gifted
The 2022 conference "Connect. Share. Grow." was held October 21-22 at the Hyatt Regency in Lake Washington. WAETAG advocates for equitable policies and practices for educators who work with academically advanced students. This includes a focus on strenth- based approaches for finding talent, providing acccess to advanced learning opportunities,and matching evidence-supported instructional practices and services to students' strengths, needs, and domains of talent.
WAETAG consistently provides high-quality professional development opportunities for educators statewide and beyond. Our offerings encompass monthly webinars, an annual fall conference, spring summits on both sides of the state, and an online library of on-demand webinars. All offerings are designed to support equitable identification and instruction while enhancing educator expertise in meeting the needs of academically advanced students. Clock hours are provided, ensuring educators receive professional development credit for their participation.
Grants are available to educators of $1,000 per quarter to provide an opportunity for ongoing professional development and/or support for their classrooms. WAETAG is dedicated to empowering educators through our grants and scholarships program designed to improve the quality of instruction, support innovative projects and initiatives, and drive positive change in educational practices for academically advanced students. From attending vital seminars to upgrading teaching tools and enriching student experiences, our financial support makes a significant impact on both present and future educators, as well as their students.
