Program areas at Washington Health Alliance
The Alliance uses claims data from Health plans, self-insured employers and medicaid to measure and report on the variation in clinical quality, Health equity, and total cost of care for 4.5 million state of Washington residents in order to promote higher value Health care.
The Alliance collaborates with health-related organizations and public agencies to advance Health care transformation in the state of Washington, e.g., (1) planning and implementing Health care improvement through peer-to-peer collaboration and education, (2) leveraging the Alliance all payers' claims database to expand reporting on Health care quality and cost, and (3) working with members to drive healthcare market change through aligned actions. The Alliance educates stakeholders about variation in care and opportunities for improvement in population Health focusing on advancing primary care, reducing the cost of pharmaceuticals, fair hospital pricing, care navigation to the highest value care, and measuring behavioral Health outcomes.
