Free shuttle program:the Washington Park free shuttle links visitors from the Washington Park light rail station to all the major attractions in the Park. In fy23, ewp continued to add hours and shuttles to our extremely popular shuttle service in response to increasing demand ( the region continues to recover from the covid-19 pandemic slow-down). In fy23, the shuttle program provided over 93,000 rides, approximately 70% pre-pandemic levels.fy23 marked the second year of a three-year contract with mtr, marking the continuation of a multi-year relationship with this shuttle vendor.
Washington Park strategic operations plan (wpsop)the ewp staff continued work on the second phase of the wpsop, formally known as the tmp (Transportation Management plan). The second phase included drafting and board approval for a number of plans including the parkwide dei plan, the development of a data Management plan, and the approval of the deliverables phase of the Transportation access plan (tac). Implementation of the parkwide dei plan is ongoing, with initial work having been done on the transit pass program, designed to deliver more than 10,000 trimet transit passes to underserved audience members for trips to the Park fy24 and fy25.
Marketing, branding and communication:explore Washington Park continued efforts to promote transit options to get to and around the Park in support of the one Park vision. Marketing (social media, website updates, Park maps, brochures), as well as other supporting organization operations (administration, programs), increased in 2023 lockstep with the increased Park traffic and usage. Efforts that moved forward in fy23 included: . Explore Washington Park maps in trimet plaza and tunnel, continuation of marketing on line 63 bus wrap . Ad campaign of Washington Park in portland's visitor's map . 50,000 of english and spanish visitor maps updated and distributed through visitor services booths, the portland airport, partner venues and hotels . Development of aspects of the marketing plan to promote transit options and transit passes under a metro regional Transportation options grant
