TVW is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation, not a government agency, that broadcasts statewide the proceedings of all three branches of Washington state government - legislative, executive, and judicial - as well as public policy events of statewide significance. It is governed by an independent board of directors. The majority of TVW's operating cash - approximately $2.0 million per year - comes from the Legislature via a contract-for-service through the Secretary of State. Washington's cable television industry donate all channel space to TVW.
