Welcoming America

Welcoming America is a nonprofit organization that supports communities building a welcoming society where every person, including immigrants, can fully contribute and shape our shared prosperity. We envision a just world in which we each belong, prosper, and thrive in the place we now call home, no matter where we came from. Welcoming America offers an approach to demographic shifts that bends toward equity and justice rather than inequality and nativist policies.Grounded in the leadership of communities, we connect, support, and amplify those leading the work of addressing the systemic disparities and discrimination encountered by immigrants, advancing a strong foundation of welcoming in local communities.Our work includes growing and connecting the movement of leaders working to foster inclusive communities, building a growing network of local government and nonprofit members working nationwide, supporting thousands of leaders through training, tools, and expertise on building welcoming communities, and strengthening ties among neighbors across lines of difference.In 2023, we continued to expand our impact and build on the prior year's accomplishments by maintaining the Welcoming Network with 275 members;supporting a Welcoming International Alliance of 6 global partners; reaching the milestone of 23 Certified Welcoming communities; providing more than 600 hours of coaching and training; and engaging over 3,800 participants through events, webinars, and training programs. Welcoming America also launched an updated Welcoming Standard and Certified Welcoming program.
