The West Allis Training and Kennel Club is a member of the american Kennel Club ("a.k.c.") And these trials and tests are conducted pursuant to the rules of, and under the sanction of, the akc. The watkc also conducts an annual "hunters jamboree". This is a social gathering consisting of members of the Club or their families, or guests who are invited to explore the Club's facilities, participate in events with their own dogs, family members, or guests, and win prizes. The primary purpose of the jamboree is to make known the existence of the watkc, promote interest in the new members. All of essentially all of the work involved in this event is carried out on a voluntary basis by members of the Club and their families.
