Program areas at West Austin Development Center
Funding throgh the department of children and family services (dcfs) supports day care services for individual high-risk families whose children are in open dcfs cases. These services prevent and reduce parental stress that may lead to child abuse or neglect. The services also help children develop properly and enable families to remain together. Our program serves the neediest and most at-risk of the community.
Funding through head start allows us to provide enhanced services improving the lives of the children and their families. Head start supports ongoing professional Development of the teachers and assistants who provide daily instruction and supervision of the childrens various activities in the facility.
Funding through the department of agriculture food program ensures that our students, among those from the most economically challenged families in the area, are able to have nutritious meals and snacks every school day.
