Program areas at West Kortright Centre

In 2023 we presented a full season of programming with 8 performances, 10 workshops for adults, 7 gallery exhibitions, 7 theater workshops for children and youth, Kidstock!, and 12 free workshops and performances for children and youth. The free workshops for children were in collaboration with the South Kortright Central School, and the Catskills Scenic Trail and were funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. Our children and youth programs had an overall attendance of 556 people. 99 of those were from the Stamford and Worcester area. Our family festival KIDSTOCK! brought in a crowd of over 300. Our youth theater program grew to 68 participants. Overall in 2023 we served 2,300 residents and visitors; and hosted 173 artists and program contributors of diverse interests, backgrounds, and age groups.We mounted our first Emerging Voices Concert for Pride Month, featuring local performers from our LGTBQ+ community. In 2024 the event will grow and include internationally recognized performers alongside our local talent. Our first music festival featured national & international performers, Eastern Medicine Singers, Yonatan Gat, Larajji, Mamady Kouate, and legendary guitarist Lee Ronaldo of Sonic Youth. A highlight of the season was a performance by legendary artist Meredith Monk. Ms Monk presented a survey of her work.
