Program areas at WOEIP
Air quality: our air quality program area aims to reduce air pollutant emissions and exposure throughout West Oakland through the 80+ strategies outlined in the West Oakland community action plan (wocap), resulting in cleaner air and healthier residents.
Renewable energy: woeip is moving West Oakland and other impacted communities toward decarbonization and energy equity through home energy and science education, and alternative fuel and transportation pilot projects.
Resilient infrastructure: we're building a thriving, more resilient West Oakland through the design and implementation of green infrastructure using collaborative problem-solving, decision-making, and co-design with government agencies, urban planners, and community members.
Advocacy and policy: woeip helps ensure that local, regional, state, and federal policies and regulations reflect the principles of Environmental justice by delivering training, consulting, and advisory services to government agencies and their staff, community groups, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholders working on issues of air quality, energy resilience, climate change, and Environmental justice.
