Western Ny Healthcare Association

State advocacy: hawcny and its members, working with the Healthcare Association of New York state (hanys) and New York's allied associations, advocated against proposed cuts in Healthcare funding for Healthcare providers. These successful efforts helped maintain critical Healthcare services in Western and Central New York and preserve vital Healthcare jobs in providers in Western and Central New York. Also, hawcny worked to ensure that the implementation of regulations and legislation supports and advances the delivery of Healthcare and improved patient care in New York state.

Hawcny worked in various ways to promote collaboration among its hospital members and thereby enhance patient care, improve quality, improve efficiency and reduce costs. Specifically, hawcny also assisted and supported its hospital members in the erie-niagara combined statistical area in evaluating and organizing their wage index reports to the centers for medicaid and medicare services. In doing so, hawcny supported hospitals in their efforts to secure appropriate reimbursement for Healthcare staff which acted as a stabilizing factor in ensuring continued access to Healthcare services.

Federal advocacy: hawcny and its members worked alongside hanys, New York's allied associations, and the american hospital Association to advance an agenda that protected Healthcare providers from medicare and medicaid spending reductions and advocated for legislation and regulations that supported the efficient and effective delivery of Healthcare services. Hawcny also advocated for the adoption of Healthcare reforms that would expand access to Healthcare insurance and improve the ability of providers to meet the needs of their communities.
