Program areas at Western Wisconsin Workforce Development Board
Adult Programs - provide employment and training services under Title 1 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) including adult, dislocated worker, special response grants, national emergency grants programs related to on-the-job training and other types of individualized training to disadvantaged adults and dislocated workers.
Youth Programs - designed to assist youth ages 14-24 with career planning and work experience. The Youth program has 14 components to assist youth in planning for successful careers and self-sufficiency. Supportive services and training are available. Youth are assigned a career planner who helps them with being successful in school and the world of work.
Workforce Advancement Initiative - this is an American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) funding to provide barrier-removing services to individuals impacted by the pandemic. These services include transportation, child care assistance, training, clothing, and other services related to working.
Dept of Correction - Job services provided in prisons, Events to educate on workforce programs (called Winning with Wisconsin). Rapid Response = providing employee assistance for employers laying off workers in the eight-county region. Job Center: providing a resource room worker to assist in the one-stop job center.
