Program areas at Whowhatwhy
We are pioneers in the area of election integrity having provided some of the first in-depth coverage of 21st century voter suppression. We have produced important student voting guides and books on the functionality of digital voting machines. We are a trusted information resource for the public in this critical area of our democracy.
We devote considerable effort to researching and sharing innovative practices for newsrooms and nonprofit organizations. These include new ways of storytelling at a time when attention is more fragmented than ever and rendering complex issues comprehensible and interesting to the public ensuring that the most consequential matters of the day get a fair hearing.
We are innovators in launching and running educational programs training a new generation of journalists for the future. Our Mentor-Apprentice program matches dozens of aspiring writers and news reporters with seasoned veterans annually delivering cost-free graduate level training in news and feature writing deep investigative research and navigating special interest agendas.
