Willamette Valley Law Project conducts research and education on issues and conditions that affect low-income persons working in agriculture and related sectors. Program areas at Willamette Valley Law Project

Education and research activities on farmworker labor and environmental rights concerning federal or state statutory rights and guarantees afforded or denied to agricultural workers in the areas of wages, working conditions, employment relations, organization and free assembly and expression, as well as government policies and practices in enforcing these rights and guarantees. This includes conducting research, drafting alternative statutory language, survery awareness and interest in labor rights, present information and analysis on farm labor rights, survey farmworkers to document conditions, assemble documentation and date on chemicals used in Oregon, document instances of chemical exposure, survey awareness of and interest in pesticide issues, present information and analysis on pesticide issues, identify and enlist participation of medical professionals in addressing pesticide exposure, and identify and pursue appropriate courses of action to limit or eliminate damage to humans or the environment caused by agricultural chemicals.additional education and research on immigrants' rights, community based mass communication (effective strategies for reaching a larger audience) and immigrant rights and service projects.
