Program areas at Wisconsin Coalition on Student Debt

The Coalition conducted a statewide Money Smart Scholarship Essay Contest. All graduating high school seniors in Wisconsin were encouraged to submit an essay responding to a prompt about how to budget and pay for college. The seven winning participants were each awarded a $1000 Edvest contribution.
The Coalition expanded its support services and resources for Wisconsin borrowers. These services include a student loan call and email helpline, monthly informational webinars, a resource newsletter, and information-sharing on social media.
The Coalition continued its support of increasing FAFSA completions among Wisconsin high school seniors through the support of a Wisconsin Equitable Recovery Grant. Support services included workshops, school sessions, a social media outreach campaign and individualized completion help sessions through the Coalition member, Fair Opportunity Project.
