Program areas at Wny Heroes
Operation b.o.o.t.s. - brought veterans and their families together in a casual, non-clinical, non-threatening setting in safe, fun environments that foster teamwork, networking, and friendship.
Pawsitive for Heroes - Wny Heroes provided combat veterans with a service dog & training to benefit from medical issues, including ptsd.
Heroes' bridge - Wny Heroes provided grants to combat veterans and their families for up to 3 months rent, mortgage, utilities; food distribution and holiday meals.
Other programs and services - adopt-a-hero's family: to donate items to veterans and their families that are in need. Wny Heroes also provided scholarships to the children of veterans. Operation automotive: assisted veterans in the community who were not able to afford the inital costs of a vehicle, or the costs of repairing a vehicle they already owned. Operation backpack: to provide children of veterans or those still serving with backpacks filled with essential school supplies necessary to be successful in school.
