Program areas at Chelsea's Fund
Chelsea's Fund is serving as fiscal sponsor for circle of hope health care services inc jan-oct 2022. Circle of hope had applied w/the irs in 2021 & gained recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization in oct 2022. Its clinic suffered arson in may 2022, delaying it's opening until 2023. The opening of the clinic will make abortion services significantly more accessible to Wyoming residents. As such, serving as circle of hope's fiscal sponsor directly supports Chelsea's Fund's mission.
Chelsea's Fund, along with 5 other plaintiffs, filed suit to prevent enforcement of the Wyoming abortion ban that went into effect on july 2022. We won a temporary restraining order, followed by a preliminary injuction, that kept abortion legal and available in Wyoming for all of 2022 and into 2023.
Chelsea's Fund provides funding assistance to enable access to abortion services. Payments are directly made to providing clinics to defray the cost of the services. The funding assistance directly benefitted 129 individuals; numerous others, including family members, also benefitted as a result of the services offered.
Chelsea's Fund provides information & education about the availability of abortion services by means of website, billboards, and notices or cards to inform people of all relevant resources. We do not track website traffic so the number of people directly benefitting is unknown. Our all-volunteer phoneline also services education purposes in addtional to serving as the intake for direct support.
