Program areas at Women Lead
Women leads core constituencies consist of adolescent girls and young Women aged 15 to 25, specifically focusing on those from diverse backgrounds and marginalized communities. Our programs, Lead course, young womens political leadership course (ywplc), school leadership program, and own it, are tailored to empower these individuals, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to challenge the gender norms, pursue their leadership roles, and advocate for the gender equality. Throughout the 2022/23 fiscal year, Women leads impactful programs made a significant difference by empowering numerous young Women and girls. This year, our flagship program, the Lead course, contributed to the graduation of 26 leaders during. Women leads school leadership program (slp) is one of the major highlights of the Lead program, in which our Lead course leaders (adolescent girls) co-lead weekly workshops for younger students over four months. Slp serves as a two-way learning process for leaders, and slp students as school-level students are guided on their leadership skills while our leaders get first-hand experience in actual program design in the field. Through the school leadership program (slp), we reached a total of 224 participants, including 58 boys and 166 girls. The participants attended 10-day sessions conducted by co-leaders who visited 13 schools in kathmandu valley. Additionally, the young womens political leadership course (ywplc), another flagship program, celebrated the graduation of 16 fellows. In addition to these flagship programs, Women leads outreach efforts successfully engaged 33 young girls through the young womens leadership program and 130 young girls through y4y: allies for feminist leadership course, further expanding the organizations reach and impact.
