Program areas at Women of Hope Resource Center
The mission of the New Life Program is to help those struggling with addiction (substance use disorders and gambling), seeking recovery, by offering outpatient addiction treatment and mental health counseling that teaches how to maintain sobriety and have hope for a future that is substance free. Our program is unique because we offer gender specific groups. We also offer specialized counseling that targets self-care. Licensed by the state of New Jersey. Clients have an assessment done to determine their Level of Care. They can be placed in either Intensive Outpatient (IOP) or Outpatient (OP) Level of Care. If a client needs a higher level of care, we refer them to another agency for detox or partial care. After completing the higher level of care the clients are eligible to come for our outpatient services. IOP sessions include at least three 3-hour groups per week and one 60-minute individual per week. OP sessions include two 90-minute groups per week and at least two individual sessions per month. We have a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) on staff does mental health counseling with clients that need this service. We also have an Advanced Practicing Nurse (APN) with a Psych background who does Psychiatric Evaluations and can prescribe medications for mental health conditions based on her evaluation. We bill insurance including Medicaid for these services we offer. If there are uninsured clients, there are some state funded programs that may cover the services they receive.
Give Hope Program addresses this question: Have you ever wondered what your next step should be when dealing with someone struggling with addiction? The program demonstrates effective communication skills to anyone who has a loved one struggling with addiction. We can also work with the person in active addiction to teach them communication skills also. This program consists of educational workshops, loved one support, and one on one consultations. We also offer information on available community resources like sober living environments, detox facilities, and other recovery support services. The program helps address these questions and thoughts that some people have: When is the right time to talk to my loved one about their addiction? I feel powerless and don't know what my next steps should be. How do I motivate my loved one to seek treatment? I feel all alone and detached from others. I am frustrated and angry all the time, how can I get these feelings to stop? No one else has gone through this, so no one understands everything that I am going through. I am so unhappy; will I ever be happy again? My life is out of control and there is nothing I can do to fix it. Have I missed any red flags?
Our aftercare program called Building Lives Together (BLT) offers a recovery coach / peer specialist who will work with anyone pursuing sobriety to jump start their recovery. The coach assists in developing life skills, while being and helping to build a support network. The person in recovery gets a coach who can relate to their circumstances through their personal experience of the recovery process. The program offers a peer that has been in recovery to walk alongside of a recoveree to assist them in areas of their life that are not addressed when being counseled an outpatient facility. Services the peer helps with include resume writing, job searches, housing, license restoration, staying sober and finding 12 step meetings to attend.
