Program areas at Women Offshore Foundation
Career Support: Our Career Development Program takes applicants through a 1-month personal development series that asks tough questions to determine suitability for an exciting career in the maritime or offshore industries. Once accepted into the program, candidates build a roadmap to success with our program coordinator. Our US State Academy Training Cruise Scholarships Program is designed to provide funds to women+ who are interested in pursuing a career on the water. An applicant must be a full-time student at a US State Maritime Academy and in a licensed major program.
Student Day: In collaboration with SUNY Maritime's Women on the Water Club, the Women Offshore Foundation hosted a 1-day conference for cadets and students. The event was held at SUNY Maritime's Maritime Academic Center (MAC) where attendees learned from experienced maritime professionals and were able to speak to company representatives about opportunities.
Conference: Each year through our conference program, Women Offshore charts a course towards a future where female seafarers are representative of the population.
S.A.V.E.: To eradicate sexual violence in the maritime industry and support the safety of seafarers, Women Offshore founded a Sexual Assault & Violence Eradication (S.A.V.E.) program to provide reporting and support resources.
Mentorship: At Women Offshore, we believe that to reduce the gender gap we must connect women seeking mentors with experienced seafarers in this community. Our Women Offshore MentorSHIP mentor program virtually connects mentors and mentees. This program is open to women anywhere in the world who have experience or currently work on the water in the maritime or offshore oil and gas industries.
Inclusion Summit: Women Offshore's Inclusion Summit focuses on equipping attendees with the tools, insights, and connections necessary for driving meaningful change.
