Program areas at Womens Foundation of New Jersey A NJ Nonprofit Corporation
Women United in Philanthropy: In 2021 the Foundation became the fiscal agent for this women's giving circle. Between 2021 & 2022 we accepted a total of $250,000 of transferred cash assets from the previous agent, Bergen County's United Way. During 2023 we awarded grants to the following agencies that support women and children in crisis: The Food Brigade, Center for Hope and Safety, Geriatric Services Inc., and the Women's Rights Information Center.
Disaster Response: Established after September 11, 2001, the Foundation's disaster response initiative awards grants to help in times of community crisis (e.g. COVID)
Action Against Hunger: This program delivered approximately 31,800 pounds of food to local food banks and pantries in 2019, but the food drive was suspended in 2020-2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Foundation continued to raise funds via its website to help feed its North Jersey neighbors. The Foundation raised $3,624 for this effort in 2023.
