Women's Resource Center of Racine sensitively serves victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse through exploitation. They provide crisis intervention, advocacy, education, and prevention services for a diverse population of victims or individuals at risk of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault by promoting positive changes for individual. This year, they served 269 women and children in its domestic violence emergency shelter for approximately 6,976 nights of care. They supplied these victims with basic needs such as food, clothing, medications, and toiletries.

Program areas at Women's Resource Center of Racine

Wrc provides shelter for victims of domestic abuse through several areas of focus. Safety is our number one concern for our clients and their children. A personalized safety plan is prepared and reviewed with the client. We provide advocacy and assistance which can include employment and housing issues. We provide domestic violence education and support. Our domestic violence educators help our clients make decisions, discuss problems, heal from the abuse, and set goals for their future. Support groups help our clients get support from other victims, discuss concerns and get the support needed to make choices. In addition to these services to clients, we provide education through a safe start program for health relationships for youth ages 9 to 18. Our hand2hand program provides supervised and monitored visits and safe exchange program.
