Description
Women's Storybook Project of Texas aims to connect children with their incarcerated mothers and strengthen their bond through literature. It seeks to decrease the rate of re-incarceration among mothers and lower the likelihood of these children ending up in prison themselves, while improving the community. They support children with mothers serving sentences in 13 women's prisons in Texas by having 503 mothers record stories and/or send a caring note and book through US mail. The organization has mailed 2,177 books and/or recordings to children located across Texas.
