Program areas at Worcester Area Mission Society United Church of Christ
Its functions are twofold: to work with ucc congregations and organizations, and to carry out Mission work in central Massachusetts communities. The Society collaborated on two types of education programs, summer cubs, a summer learning loss prevention in Worcester, and play group plus, with locations in Worcester and fitchburg. The Society also, participated in the umass memorial health anchor Mission project to support affordable housing, led a fundraising drive to provide books for public school children, and assisted in efforts to aid afghan and haitian families arriving in central Massachusetts. In addition, the Society also provides support to a nonprofit housing organization and maintains and offers meeting spaces for use by other community nonprofits.
