In 2022 Workers Defense Action Fund ("wdaf") was focused on strengthening safety and wage protections for Workers and supporting an equitable treatment of immigrants. At the local level, wdaf advocated for policies like construction worksite standards under the better builder program, support on paid sick leave ordinances throughout Texas, prepare for the 2023 legislative session and policies to protect immigrant communities. Wdaf also engages in voter education. Wdaf also worked with the department of transportation to advocate for better builder standards to enhance worker protections on construction sites, advocated for wage theft protections with city councils, engaged in work to bring jail-based voting to dallas jails, and met with council members to push for library card ids for immigrants.
