Raises awareness and informs the public about child safety issues through written materials, speeches, workshops, interviews, and presentations geared toward consumers, parent groups, schools and other organizations (some examples over the years include franciscan children's, parenting for connection, teen summer expo, the jai institute for parenting, boston university, qcap head start).w.a.t.c.h. Representatives discussed toy safety issues in forums geared toward providing safety information to families, caregivers and educators. The bi-annual conferences (the fall "toy safety conference and the spring "summer safety conference") have generated extensive national press and media coverage, successfully sharing safety information with the public, including outlets such as cbs, abc, nbc, fox, cw, and premiere network. For example, in 2023 safety information from toy safety conferences was included in a combined 19,093,595 million viewer impressions for print, tv, radio and digital coverage. Multiple media outlets disseminated information relating to w.a.t.c.hWatcht.c.h. 's "10 worst Toys and "summer safety traps" including wcvb channel 5 news and online, which reaches a total 1.1 million monthly uvm.w.a.t.c.h. 's '10 worst Toys' list was shared on various outlets recently including whdh-tv channel 7, wesh in orlando, 98.5 boston the sports hub, cbs tv news chicago, kxnet news, citibiz news boston, channel 5 tv 6pm news boston, to name a few. Additionally, w.a.t.c.hWatcht.c.h. Keeps the public apprised of timely safety issues by compiling and publishing written materials (i.e. Information on products, recalls, injuries) and by sharing content on social media (facebook, x, instagram, linkedin) and on its website (toysafety.org). Many organizations and groups share w.a.t.c.hWatcht.c.h. 's research and publications with their caregiver, parent and consumer audiences, such as hospitals, doctors' offices, and schools. W.a.t.c.hWatcht.c.h. 's program this year also continued its #shoutsafety informational campaign, highlighting the importance of sharing safety information for the prevention of injuries. The annual "10 worst toy list", conferences, workshops, media appearances and social media are a few of the ways w.a.t.c.hWatcht.c.h. Continues to fight to protect children from unsafe Toys and other children's products. The positive responses from the media and the public have resulted in numerous toy and product design changes and children's lives have been saved. By raising public awareness, w.a.t.c.hWatcht.c.h. Fights to ensure children's safety is a priority for the industry and government regulatory agencies.
