World Education Research Association

Wera organized and sponsored substantive symposia, sessions, and related meetings focused on the latest findings, issues, and trends in Education Research. In august 2018 wera convened the 2018 wera World congress in cape town, south africa. The congress brought together nearly 400 researchers, policy leaders, and practitioners from 52 countries to participate in nearly 130 program sessions including: paper sessions (67), symposia (25), poster sessions (2), and workshops (4) as well as other pertinent sessions (35) focused on advancing Education Research worldwide. In 2018, wera also sponsored symposia or gave invited plenary addresses at national and international meetings (united states, italy, germany, spain and peru) and held capacity development workshops in new york city and cape town. All of these meetings were held in cooperation with and at the site of meetings of member associations, with the World congress being a free standing conference for wera. In addition, wera supports 20 international Research networks (irns) involving more than 80 scholars.
