More than 20 author events are held each year in support of raising Writers creative writing and college admission essay classes offered free to area students.
The battle of the books engages 370 area students (62 teams) who read a set of eight books and compete in front of judges to demonstrate their memory and creative skills. This event is free and held in partnership with the Traverse area district library.
