Program areas at WV Game Changers
Prevention education/opioid summit - brings students from throughout the state together to hear expert speakers, counselors, etc. To dicuss opioid and substance misuse prevention and education programs which are designed to address the problem of opioid and substance misuse. They have become but one component of the gamechanger student powered opioid and substance misuse education program as developed in conjuction with the hazelden betty ford foundation.
Golf classic and prevention luncheon - this event serves a dual capacity with the golf classic and dinner the night before used as one of the main fundraising events for gamechanger while the prevention education luncheon is designed to bring prevention experts from throughout west Virginia and the nation to discuss new innovative prevention solutions to discuss and further enhance the gamechanger initiative.
Change their holiday - is a program that gamechanger partners with governor justice's jobs and hope program along with sponsors walmart, mcdonald's, parmar, and mountineer marts and pepsi, to help provide much needed funds at christmas to families whose mom and dad have been in successful opioid and substance misuse recovery and who may still be getting back on their feet. This is aimed primarly for families who have young children so that they don't miss a visit from santa.
