Program areas at WHA
Hospital network consisting of 26 hospitals in Wyoming composed of 16 critical access hospitals, 9 general acute care hopsitals and 1 pyschiatric Hospital. The Association was formed for the purposes of sharing resources, continuing education, promoting operational efficiencies, and improving health care services for member hospitals and the rural communities they serve.
Representation, advocacy and consulting for member hospitals.
The upper payment limit (upl) program was established in response to the Wyoming private hospitals' agreement to share monies paid by the federal government and divided among 8 private hospitals. The private hospitals agreed to share these monies with all the hospitals around the state in order to give each Hospital a more equitable share with such payments. The Association acts as the intermediary/paying agent for these funds. Receipts and disbursements are allocated to hospitals based on a pre-determined formula provided by the Association's attorney.
Other minor programs include membership development and conventions that aid in sharing resources, continuing education, promoting operational efficiencies, and improving health care services for member hospitals and the communities they serve.
