Program areas at Yavapai Symphony Association
Our mission statement is to provide an annual season of 7 professional music concerts to prescott, az. Over 3,000 residents attended concerts in this rural area at a cost considerably less than those presented in phoenix, Arizona (located 100 miles away). The organization also provides complimentary tickets to 1 child (in elementary, middle or high school) and 1 parent for each concert as a community service to expose childern to the professional arts. This program provided complimentary tickets to active/inactive military service members and their families.
Phoenix Symphony musicians are brought in by our organization to give master classes (instruction as well as demonstrations) in local area public middle and high schools. This past fiscal year this was done with 15 professional Symphony musicians at 4 schools and involved over 300 students.
Music Scholarship Award Project given each year to Yavapai County residents who are majoring in music at accredited conservatories, colleges and universities funded from the annual accumulated earnings from the Endowment Fund of the Yavapai Symphony Association, scholarship grants, DC Comics Royalties, and patron scholarship donations.
