Yleana Leadership Foundation

Our Foundation's flagship program is the Yleana Leadership academy ("the academy") founded in 2013. The academy is a residential summer academy on the campuses of colgate university and mount holyoke college for rising high school seniors preparing to take the sat. Students prepare for the sat, develop entrepreneurial skills, read, and discuss their future with counselors and each other. The approximately 80 low-income students who attend the academy every summer receive a full scholarship - including transportation, tuition, and room and board - to attend one of our two three-week sessions. Follow-up academic sessions are also conducted in these students' home towns as they prepare to take that fall's sat. Students increase sat scores by 130-180 points in a 3-week camp. Yleana's college graduation rate is 80%.
