Program areas at Young at Heart Senior Pet Rescue

Adoption program: Young at Heart rescues "Senior" dogs and cats aged 7 years and older from traditional shelters and other situations where they are in danger of being euthanized simply due to their age. Young at Heart provides those Senior pets with all of the veterinary care that they need to enjoy their golden years in comfort. We provide food, shelter, and care for pets in our program without any time limit on how long an animal is in our care. Young at Heart's adoption program offers fully vetted Senior dogs and cats aged 7 years or older for adoption to approved adopters. Young at Heart cares for approximately 40 Senior pets at our cage-free adoption center with an additional 40-50 Senior pets cared for in foster and sanctuary homes.
Sanctuary program: Young at Heart's sanctuary program allows Senior pets with end-of-life medical issues to enjoy the love of a family during their final days, while Young at Heart covers all medical expenses for the sanctuary Pet. These dogs and cats receive all the medical support, love, and attention they need to enjoy the rest of their lives, cared for by their sanctuary homes and financially supported by Young at Heart.
