Our teaching staff leads the students in a variety of lesson plans including an introduction to literacy, math, open play, art, music, steam, physical education, and more each day. The program also includes field trips and visiting programs to enhance the learning experience.sacc:school age child care (sacc) is designed for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Programs for this age group complement and enhance formal education, and provide learning opportunities that build relationships, develop character, and inspire discovery to help foster your child's academic success. Our before and after school programs are located at various school sites in Oswego county.our sacc curriculum is based on the four core values of the ymca: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Activities are created to be inclusive and consider all dimensions of diversity, including ethnicity, income level, and special needs and abilities. Activities include; homework time, hepa (healthy eating physical activity), arts & crafts, stem, character development, and so much more!summer day camp:the ymca provides safe, high-quality, and enriching experiences for all youth. Our summer day camps ensure that school-age children have a great summer full of experiences centered around relationship building, creating belonging, having success with achieving new things, stemming any summer learning loss spending quality time outdoors, and getting to know the environment around us. Our programs for youth entering kindergarten through 7th grade are led by engaging, caring staff and offer the right mix of fun, friendships, challenges, and good times!
Healthy living - at the heart of the y lies the power to transformboth yourself and the community around you. From our wide range of fitness, personal training, preventative health, sports and other programs, to our group social activities, as well as fun family and community events, we offer an array of options focused on strengthening spirit, mind and body.
Social responsibility (respite)-the friends for life respite program is aimed at serving people with disabilities who reside in Oswego county with their families. This program was developed to give relief to parents while providing opportunities for inclusion and integration for participants at the Oswego ymca and in the community.the respite program activities provide independence to the participants with structured programming that also promotes physical fitness. Participants are exposed to mainstream events that support the development of their confidence and social skills. Respite is offered year-round seven days a week. Transportation is provided for most services.
