Healthy living - our y offers a wide range of programs and services to encourage healthy lifestyles, bring families together and foster connections. Our programs, (focused on exercise, nutrition, health education, stress management, aquatics, sports, social activities, and disease prevention and management) are accessible and affordable to people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and income levels. In a welcoming and inclusive environment, more than 167,534 members and participants receive support, guidance and resources to achieve their healthy living goals. Financial assistance is provided to those who cannot afford our services.
Youth development / social responsibility - our y is committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen. We cultivate the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, educational achievement and better health. Our programs (including child care, after school, camping, youth sports, leadership development, summer and early learning, parent-child and family) offer experiences that enrich cognitive, social, physical and emotional growth and strengthen family connections. In y facilities and throughout the community, we serve 119,123 children and teens. Subsidies and financial assistance make participation possible for those in need. Our y is committed to strengthening our community and responding to critical social needs. Project cornerstone is our community initiative to partner with schools, engage parent volunteers, and provide on-campus programming to 56,946 students to build self-esteem, prevent bullying and risky behaviors, and create a positive school climate. We fight hunger by providing 559,000 healthy meals and snacks to those in need. We engage 4,900 donors and 6,186 volunteers who devote time and resources to help others. We create healthy, balanced families and communities.
