Program areas at Young Singers of the Palm Beaches
Young Singers is Palm beach county's award-winning community children's choir, comprised of children in grades 2 through 12. Our 297 member choir produce two annual concerts at the kravis center for the performing arts as well as performing with the Palm beach symphony and Palm beach opera. Using music as a common denominator, Young Singers provides our students a safe environment for artistic excellence, personal growth and social development. - artistic excellence: we are known for our high level of musicianship and entertaining concerts. Yspb expands our Singers' knowledge in genres of music, cultural diversity, and choral technique. - personal growth: opportunities are provided to enrich performance skills, leadership skills, and build self confidence. - social development: we foster communication, team building and problem solving. Our choir members learn the importance of community outreach and service. They act as our ambassadors when they perform in small ensembles and as soloists throughout our community.
Since 2011, we have provided free after-school and summer camp choral programming at various schools and out-of-school care sites throughout Palm beach county including the glades. Conductors of our after-school choirs are all music professionals, many who currently teach music at Palm beach county schools. Our after-school choirs enrich children with all the benefits of being in a choir, like a sense of belonging, self-confidence, becoming a better reader, as well as learning vocal techniques, proper posture and breathing, tone production, and learning to sight read music. Last year our outreach programs reached over 3,000 elementary and middle school students.
