Youth Shelter Program of Westchester, Inc. (the "organization"),operates a community-based home-like alternative to incarceration for young men awaiting adjudication for various charges in courts throughout Westchester county, ny. The organization provides its residents with food, Shelter, medical care, psychological counseling, substance abuse treatment, state certified high school education administered by the local board of education, social and recreational programs and a positive environment that emphasizes respect, discipline, structure, responsibility and individualized attention. The goals of the Program are to educate, motivate and provide opportunities for success to assist the residents to function as positive, contributing members of society upon their final adjudication and release. The organization provides young offenders a unique continuum of care that begins the day they arrive at the Shelter and continues long after their discharge. The organization operates a 12-bed residential facility and provides educational, clinical/behavioral health, vocational and cultural enhancement Program to our residents and their families. We also operate a community Program that is embedded with the same service model that acts as diversionary Program within the local city courts for Youth ages 16-25 along with an aftercare Program to support a Youth's successful reintegration back into the community after incarceration.
